  3. This directory contains fonts and related files. Possible subdirectories
  4. are of the form <type>.<supplier>.<typeface> where type is one of afm, gf,
  5. pk, source, tfm, type1, vf. Supplier can be public, ams, local, tmp or the
  6. name of another supplier of proprietary fonts.

  8. Under RISC OS it is customary to keep font files like cmr10.mf in !TeXFonts
  9. rather than in TDS:texmf.fonts.source.public.cm. Both alternatives are
  10. possible.

  12. TFM files can be put in texmf:fonts.tfm.<supplier>.<typeface> but you would have to add texmf:fonts.tfm.. to TeXFonts$Path.
